So how is Focaccia made ? Here is the recipe :
Focaccia is the general name given to flat bread types in Italian cuisine prepared with flour, water, salt and yeast. Focaccia can be cooked like pizza dough. It can be eaten alongside meals or as a sandwich bread.
MATERIALS
* 500 grams of flour
* 375 grams of water
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 30 grams of fresh yeast
* 1.5 tablespoons of olive oil
* 1 tablespoon of honey
* 2 sprigs of fresh thyme
* 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary
* Half a glass of pitted black olives
* 3/4 cup dried tomatoes
Mix the yeast with 1 glass of water and open it.
Put the flour and salt in the kneading bowl and mix.
Add the leavened water and start kneading with your hand.
Add the remaining water, honey and olive oil and start kneading.
Add the olives and tomatoes that you cut into cubes to the dough.
Finally, add the thyme and rosemary leaves.
Knead until you have a runny dough that sticks to the hand.
Spread the dough in the oiled ovenware.
Cover it with a damp cloth and wait for 25 minutes to ferment.
Then put the focaccia in the cold oven.
Set the oven to 180 degrees and cook for 35 minutes.
When you take it from the oven, brush it with olive oil, slice it when it is warm and serve.
